Natural Lawn & Garden Care
A soil-first approach to healthier lawns, stronger plants, and more resilient gardens.
REGEN uses natural fertilizers, compost-based inputs, and biological soil care to improve the conditions your lawn and garden are growing in.
Our natural lawn and garden care services are available throughout Sooke, East Sooke, the Westshore, and Victoria.

Healthy Plants Start With Healthy Soil
When a lawn is thin, plants are struggling, or the same problems keep coming back, the issue is not always above ground.
Compacted soil, low organic matter, poor nutrient cycling, or weak soil biology can all affect how well plants grow.
Instead of treating every symptom with another quick application, we look at the conditions underneath the lawn or garden and work to improve them over time.
The goal is not instant perfection.
The goal is a healthier growing environment that supports stronger plants and better long-term results.
What Natural Lawn & Garden Care Can Include

Natural Fertility
We use natural and biological inputs to support plant growth without relying on conventional synthetic fertilizer programs.

Compost & Soil Improvements
Adding the right organic matter can improve soil structure, water-holding capacity, nutrient availability, and the environment for beneficial soil organisms.
Compost may be used as part of lawn topdressing, garden-bed improvement, or broader soil restoration.

Lawn Health
We can support lawns that are thin, patchy, slow to recover, or struggling in compacted soil, often combined with overseeding, top dressing, or lawn renovation when needed.

Garden & Plant
Health
Good soil supports more than lawns. We can also use soil-focused care around garden beds, shrubs, perennials, trees, new plantings, and established landscapes. The aim is to support root health and improve growing conditions rather than simply feeding the plant from the top down.
A More Thoughtful Alternative to Conventional Lawn Care

Before Lawn Care

After
Soil Structure
Is your soil compacted or able to hold air and water?
Organic Matter
Is your soil compacted or able to hold air and water?
Biology
Are conditions supportive of beneficial soil organisms?
Plant Health
Are plants receiving what they need to grow well?
Maintenance Practices
Could mowing, watering, or other care be contributing to the problem?

Why Soil Biology Matters
Soil is not just dirt.
Healthy soil contains a complex community of organisms involved in nutrient cycling, decomposition, soil structure, and plant health.
REGEN owner Kane has trained in soil regeneration and the Soil Food Web approach developed by Dr. Elaine Ingham.
That background helps us look at lawn and garden problems differently and decide when biological or soil-focused improvements may be useful.
You do not need to understand soil microbiology to use the service.
That’s our job.
Our Natural Care Program
Ongoing Care Throughout the Growing Season
Rather than relying on one heavy application, our natural lawn and garden care program works over time.
A typical program may include a series of visits throughout the season for assessment, natural fertility, compost or biological inputs, and adjustments based on how the property is responding.
Works Well Alongside Maintenance
Natural lawn & garden care works best alongside good maintenance. For clients who want both, we can integrate the two services.
REGEN is based in Sooke and provides Natural Lawn & Garden Care throughout:
